3M™ OEM Match Epoxy Seam Sealer

3M™ OEM Match Epoxy Seam Sealer is a versatile family of epoxy seam sealers designed for use on bare metal or primed surfaces. Available in black, beige, white, and gray to match the most common OEM-applied seam sealer colors. Compatible with many leading automotive paint systems, they are set and ready to paint after 15 minutes. These sealants are caulkable, toolable, brushable, and sprayable – meaning they can be used in a variety of applications, including door skins, floor pans, trunk floors, roof seams, and many others. The medium-bodied formula is non-sagging for clean, efficient tooling in vertical and horizontal seams. Specially formulated to not shrink, crack, or outgas. Adheres to properly prepared bare metal and primed surfaces. Always apply as directed in OEM repair procedures, position statements, and bulletins. Built with three corrosion inhibitors for corrosion resistance. Can be used to replicate a variety of factory seam sealer beads using the 3M OEM Match Seam Sealer tips.

NOTE: 3M recommends that all seam sealers, including direct-to-metal seam sealers, should be applied over a 2K primer. 3M™ OEM Match Epoxy Seam Sealer is designed for application over bare steel; galvanized steel; aluminum; 2K urethane primer; 2K Epoxy primer; or to cleaned and prepped OEM finishes. Acid etch primers should never be in direct contact with seam sealers.

1. Wash the surface with an appropriate VOC-compliant product for the removal of surface contaminants.
2. Bare metal surfaces should be sanded with an appropriate 3M 50 – 180 grit abrasive. Scuff previously painted and primed surfaces with a Scotch-Brite™ General Purpose Hand Pad.
